An Oceanfront Escape in Kailua-Kona

Welcome to Kona Blue, a spacious private retreat set along the shoreline of the Kona Coast. With over 4,500 square feet of interior living space, this four-bedroom home with additional sleeping areas is designed for relaxed group travel, offering direct ocean access, sweeping Pacific views, and a setting that feels both private and connected to the island’s natural beauty.

Positioned just steps from the water, the home combines modern comfort with open-air living. Multiple lanais, a private pool, and flexible gathering spaces make it well suited for families and groups seeking both shared experiences and personal retreat.

Living Spaces

The main level opens with a bright entry that flows into a generous dining and living area. A table for eight anchors the space, while large windows frame views of the pool and ocean beyond. Neutral tones and comfortable furnishings create an easygoing atmosphere, with natural light and coastal breezes moving throughout.

The layout encourages connection, whether gathering for meals, relaxing after a day outdoors, or simply enjoying the changing light over the Pacific.

Kitchen & Dining

The renovated kitchen is designed for both function and flow. A large center island, professional-grade appliances, and ample prep space make it easy to cook for a group. An adjacent breakfast nook provides a casual spot for coffee or light meals.

Indoor dining transitions seamlessly to outdoor spaces, giving guests the option to enjoy meals inside or under the open sky.

Outdoor Living

Kona Blue’s outdoor areas are centered around its oceanfront pool. Lounge chairs line the deck, while covered lanais offer shaded seating for reading, dining, or quiet conversation.

The grassy lawn extends toward the shoreline, creating space for children to play or for guests to gather at sunset. Multiple seating areas allow for both larger group moments and smaller, more private escapes throughout the day.

Great experience. Beautiful home and grounds. Quiet well maintained neighborhood

  • Beautiful property, made for a great trip for our family of five. The main asset you don't get from the pictures is the view of the lava-ocean frontage, which is spectacular. A few other things to know. First, kitchen is well stocked with equipment and it made cooking easy. Second, the house is in a gated community where you will need your QR code to enter every single time (unless you're on foot, between 6am-8pm). Finally, the bedrooms and one of the sitting rooms have A/C but the other shared space does not. (We found that we didn't really need it since we were outdoors so much.) House was really stunning, pool was well-maintained, and the location couldn't be beat. Easy access to Kailua Kona restaurants and shops. Thanks for a great stay!

Kona Blue was a great home. It had lots of space and the ocean front view was incredible. I really liked that this is in a gated community too so that made it even better. We only ran into one issue and that was the first night the AC in the area over the garage wasn't working so it made that area unusable as it was 86 degrees in there. I was impressed though that they were able to get a technician out the next day on a Sunday to get it fixed. After that the AC ran great and kept it nice and cool. The outdoor Lanai lights didn't work but we didn't really care as we didn't really spend a lot of time outside at night. The last thing that we were not happy about is that the pictures online show different setups of rooms and different decor than what actually is. The outside Lanai had different seats and no rockers, the grass area outside is made to look a lot bigger than it actually is too, the main hang out room downstairs was setup differently with different furniture, and the several rooms upstairs were also laid out differently with different decor. Some updated photos would be great because our first impression upon arrival wasn't good. Overall it is a great house with lots of room. We would stay here again if we come back, but please get updated photos so everyone who rents this house can see what it actually looks like and not be surprised upon arrival.

My family of 4 along with my sister’s family of 3 and our parents stayed here for 7 days in February. The property was amazing! There was tons of space for us to spread out and great gathering places to come together. When at the house we spent most of our time on the Lanai and playing in the pool. We saw whales out back two of the 7 days. There is a wall along the lava rocks that leads to Keiki beach which is great for kids. The property is very close to downtown Kona and lots of good restaurants. Very convenient to the grocery store and anything else you would need. The community that the property is in is gated so we felt very secure. The kitchen was very well stocked and there was access to tons of amenities like beach chairs, pool toys and even fishing poles! The heated outdoor shower for rinsing after the beach and pool was an added bonus. We had such a great time here we didn’t want to leave. We would absolutely stay here again!

We just returned and everyone had a great time. We were three families and everyone had their own space. The kids enjoyed exploring in the backyard on the lava rocks. There was also a small sandy beach close by that the 7 and 10 year old enjoyed. The sunsets were fantastic. We enjoyed sitting out on the patio with our coffee in the mornings and soaking in the view. It was a great place for the whole family to reconnect.

Three families joined together in the beautiful and spacious house. There was plenty of room for everyone, and the house is perfectly located for quick runs into Kailu-Kona, as well as longer drives across the island to sites near Hilo. The children and adults in the group loved the pool and the easy proximity to the tidepools that are formed in the lava rock behind the poperty as well as the larger Keiki Ponds that are walking distance to the house. There is also a small sand beach walking distance to the property. The property management team was communicative and friendly as well. We would all rent this house again.

Great great location! Amazing access to the ponds for young children. There is quite a bit of foot traffic on the public access path which borders the houses. LOTS and LOTS of children's toys, pool toys, bedding, etc. Most well stocked house. Only downside was there were quite a few ants. Would definitely stay here again!

This is a beautiful house in a beautiful setting. Right on a picturesque beach with a small private pool for cooling off. Rooms are large, beds are comfortable, the place was very clean. The kitchen was very well equipped with cupboards marked where everything is. The property managers are very quick to respond and were very helpful with all the Hawaiian COVID requirements, which can be confusing. The only issue we had was there was a bit of a grumpy neighbor that called security when we were just out playing a family game on the lanai. Houses are very close and the quiet hours of 9pm to 8am are strictly enforced. So great if you like peace and quiet. Perhaps too much of a restriction if you want to do anything on the lanai at night.

We stayed two glorious weeks at the Kona blue house. It was all we had hoped it would be and a wonderful place for a family gathering with many activities at your fingertips. The weather was beautiful and the sunsets every evening are over the top. Every evening we sat out and enjoyed dinner outside and watch the sunset. The house was well stocked and clean.

Having been to the big island multiple times we were excited to stay in a home like this. It easily accommodated 10 people. The kids could walk each day to keiki ponds and swim with ease if the gorgeous pool wasn’t enough. The home was stocked with games and all the necessary items needed for a trip like this. Boogie boards and goggles and snorkels and beach chairs galore. Would love to come back to this place. Quick 3 min drive right into town for great dinners and hangs. We even found a beautiful Little Cliff jump into the ocean right in front. We are all ocean friendly and swimmers so if you aren’t this way maybe don’t do it! Especially if the tide is working. Sunsets out front were as good as any I have seen…still waiting for that perfect green flash though. 10/10 experience and easily defeats staying at a big resort! Thanks for everything. Shoots.

We loved Kona Blue. The neighborhood is quiet. The houses are lovely. Our property was spacious with fantastic outdoor spaces. Kitchen well equipped. The property management team was superb. They were quick to answer any and all questions. 5 stars!!!

The location is prime. It is a short drive to the "downtown" area, 20 minute drive from beautiful beaches and walking distance to the local breweries. The house itself is massive and has ample amount of room for a large group of friends or family. There were 9 of us in total and we were not crammed at all.

Kona Blue was an excellent home. It was very well equipped, for household needs and for outside beach. It is a home set up for multiple families and has one of the best locations for the evening sunset. Although we didn't see a whale, we saw plenty of dolphins, boats, kayakers and fishermen. It was nice to have a/c in the bedrooms. Two beaches within walking distance and several others within 20 minutes.
