Reviews

  • The house sits on an amazing small private beach that has a protected reef. The kids enjoyed snorkeling all day and as parents we really didn’t have to worry about waves, etc. The house has plenty of rooms and space for a large family. Also, the house has more the of small niceties such as utensils, spices, plates, etc… than numerous other vacation rentals we have stayed at.

  • The house was as advertised and fit out family of 8 adults and 6 grandkids vey well. The pool was amazing and the beach was pretty cool too. My only complaint is the BBQ is hard to light despite changing the starter battery. When it did light there was a big Whoosh.

  • Our stay was amazing! The house lives up to the photos. Our younger children loved in the pool, while the teenagers enjoyed the beach right out front. We enjoyed coffee on the balcony watching the waves crash, fish as well as a sea turtle in the tide pool, humpback wales breaching and cocktails with the sunset at night. There was plenty of space for our family of 11. The house was well stocked and had everything we needed. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!

We had a wonderful stay here! The host was always available for questions and helpful information. The home was very clean and very well equipped. Beds were super comfy and there was lots of room for the six of us to be together or have some privacy, which ever anyone wanted. Pool was lovely as well as the backyard. Spent many hours gazing out at the gorgeous ocean. The waves breaking along the wall was dramatic and spectacular. Enjoyed each and every sunset! Great place. Great neighborhood. Close enough to walk into Waikiki but far enough out of town that it was peaceful 11 out of 10 would recommend

Beautiful home, perfect beach location, we just loved Mermaid Cove! 5 adults and 2 kids ages 6 and 8 had enough space to relax and enjoy Hawaii. Close to town and restaurants. Well appointed kitchen. Comfy beds. Awesome pool!!! Snorkeling every morning in the lagoon in the back yard, sea turtles, eels, so many colorful fish! This place made all our Hawaii dreams come true. We will definitely be back!

Amazing! We can't stop thinking how perfect the home was and only wish it were our permanent home! The location couldn't be better- convenient to everything but felt like its own oasis. The beach and its natural pool in front of the house was perfect for kids and adults. We were able to swim, snorkel and even saw a turtle on our first day. The pool and hot tub at the house were perfect way to relax and was used multiple times every day. The house was equipped with everything one needed, comfortably fit our family, and watching the waves from either balcony was so peaceful. I wish we could go back right now!

Our family of 13, ages 2.5 to 78, loved this house. The view of the ocean and Keiki Ponds was extraordinary. The kitchen, with its window open to the view, was so large that many of us could be preparing food at the same time. There were lots of dishes and flatware, including plastic glasses and plates for the pool area and for the small children. The kitchen was well stocked with small appliances, kitchen gadgets, large bowls and serving platters, pots and pans, casserole dishes, etc. The decks on the main floor and upstairs were open to the house via large sliding glass doors. We felt like we were living outside. So lovely! The upstairs master suite and children’s sleep and play area were especially nice. The whole family used this space for laundry, play, and bathing children in the large tub. There was a closet with lots of dress-up clothes and a children’s bunk area filled with toys. There was no need to bring any toys for the kids. All the bedrooms were pleasant and large enough for 2 adults and a small child, on a mattress on the floor. The only issue was that the bedroom and bath on the pool level had a musty smell. That was not enough of a problem to change our 5-star rating. The pool was the best family pool I’ve ever seen. The spa adjoined the pool and was quickly heated when needed. The pool was warm, with 2 shallow walk-in areas at the sides of the spa—perfect play areas for our 2 non swimmers. In the evenings, the colored lights in the pool created a warm and pleasant atmosphere. The swim-up bar was fun. There was a beverage refrigerator next to the BBQ by the pool. We often brought snacks down to the bar so the kids could eat while sitting in the pool. It was hard to get them out of the pool, even to eat. Next to the pool was a large closet with bins of pool and water play supplies: water shoes; some snorkeling gear; child life jackets and “floaties;” lots of blow-up pool toys, including pool basket ball; other pool games and paddles; and a whole bin of sand toys. There were also boogie boards. There were 3 beach umbrellas to use in the sand play area in the backyard and when we headed off to other beaches. There were a couple of beach chairs and a beach mat. There were also LOTS of beach towels for the pool and beaches. One nice touch: there was a basket of reef-safe sun lotion in the pool area. The heated outdoor shower was needed and well-used. We highly recommend this rental!

OMG!!! Such an amazing home. Had it been for sale, I would have purchased it and my kids would be coming there to visit me! This home had absolutely EVERYTHING and ANYTHING you could imagine. Only problem we had was, it was so beautiful, nobody wanted to leave it to go explore! We traveled a long way from West Virginia to stay in the pool! We did go whale watching…shouldn’t have…we saw so many more just watching from the lanai! So many wonderful memories made there. My 4 year old granddaughter cried when we left and asks daily when we are going back to “our” Hawaii house. That’s how much it felt like home to us. We tried for fun to think of something they didn’t have there for their guests…the only thing we could come up with was parkas for our trip up Mauna Kea! This company could give lessons on how to set up a rental home…I can’t imagine anyone doing it better. So grateful for our time spent there.

This home is amazing and if you are a flop and drop this home is for you. It truly had everything you could possible want. We will be back! The beach in front of the house has white sand and lots of fish for snorkeling right out your back door. Easy to have fun and lots of room for everyone to gather or have privacy. Truly a lifetime trip. We were lucky enough to have a whale go by on my birthday an lunge feed about 200 yards off shore. WHAT????? Amazing.

The house worked out perfectly for our family of 8. It is extremely well equipped with everything from beach toys to chairs, umbrellas, etc. the kitchen has everything as well. It’s kinda funny but very helpful that someone went crazy with a label maker identifying everything from dishes in each cabinet to light switches. The only thing I’d say is the decorations and furniture are a bit dated and the house has clearly been a high volume rental showing quite a bit of wear and tear. However, having the beach out your front door and close proximity to town really couldn’t be beat.

This home was incredible. I would love to come here every year. They have every single thing you could need, from floaties, water shoes, toys for kids (like I'm talking insane numbers of things, including dress up, legos, new sea creature & mermaid stuffed animals, books, etc.). The location was so wonderful that we didn't really need to leave all that much, as the tide pools had a lot for us to see and explore and we were very close to food (~5 minutes for all the best restaurants). The pool had great shade for the little ones so it wasn't your typical situation of having to get the kids out of the sun for a few hours on vacation. I do think the outside patio chairs need a good cleaning or replacing, however, though this is a minor point. A much more major point of sadness is we only had 6 days here. TRUE REMORSE. We will absolutely be back!

  • We stayed....two families with 3 15-year-old boys for a week in March. The house worked perfectly for us. The "Queen's Bath" the ocean pool just outside the house was lovely and a great place to swim around, look at fish and crabs and urchins, and just generally relax. A lovely small white sand beach. The house itself (Kona Bay Bliss) was great. Super clean and comfortable. The beds were great, and I am super picky. The house and kitchen were very well stocked with everything we could want. The pool was a main focus for our boys - as well as our old selves. And the hot tub was lovely. We honestly didn't have any issues, so did not need to reach out to management, which is a great thing! There is not air-conditioning, which might be a factor in hot summer months. This is a beautiful and clearly much-loved home. We enjoyed our week in paradise immensely!

Myself and the other guests came for the Ironman World Championships that I was competing in. The home was in the perfect location-only about a 1/2 mile walk to the pier. It was also situated on a public beach area that had a nice relaxing tide pool that could be enjoyed without the intense waves that you find at other beaches. The house had plenty of room for all the guests and had all the amenities. There were only a couple issues; however, they were resolved right away. The first was the refrigerator/freezer which wasn't working(keeping things cold or producing ice) for the first couple days. The property manager did come over the same day to address the issue thankfully and we were able to use it the rest of the time without any problems. The other issue was with the guard station. There was a concern from the guard house that we were coming in and out too much but that was simply because we had 10 people staying in the house and a couple days we had people over for dinner/to spend time together with friends. I'm not sure where the concern came from, whether the guards or the owner or property manager had issues, but it seemed one party or another was overly concerned with the use of the gate pass when no rules or guidelines were being violated. We were harassed by the guards for a few days but then it seemed to calm down. There was some mold noticed in the downstairs bedroom and a musty smell. I'm assuming this is due to the proximity to the ocean and lack of airflow in the downstairs bedroom, but that is something that could and should be addressed for future guests. One more thing to keep in mind is that there is no AC in the house. It does get quite stuffy in the bedrooms during the day and all of the windows need to be open, but later at night and into the early morning hours it's not too bad. Just be prepared to be in very light clothing during the daytime hours. All in all we enjoyed our stay and had a great time.

This property was perfect for our multi-generational family group. Every bedroom has an ensuite with large tile and glass shower, the top floor master suite is incredible with great views, the kitchen is large, well appointed and has everything you need, there is a great pool and attached spa pool, with BBQ and swim up bar! The common area walls open to a great lanai overlooking the beach, where we relaxed and watched the cruise ships in port. The grounds and gated community are groomed and beautiful, there is 24 hour security, not intrusive, but paying attention, and it’s only a short 15 minute walk to the centre of the action in Kailua-Kona. And to top it off the property is right on the beautiful picturesque white sand Keiki Beach with a sand bottom tidal pool that was perfect for our toddler grandkids to splash in and yet large and deep enough for the adults to swim in the clear warm waters. There were crabs, starfish, tropical fish swimming through and over the rocks around the edges. And all the beach and pool toys, chairs, umbrellas, and snorkel gear were there for our use. Over 2 weeks of high season we never saw more than 50 people using the beach area, on a Sunday. Otherwise never more than 25. Luxury in a perfect location.
